Review unexpected results for origination of the issue (test data, requirements, coding)
⎯ Submit clear, concise and complete issues to the appropriate parties using the issue
management tool
⎯ Complete the test plan execution by retesting issues until each one is resolved
⎯ Perform a test coverage traceability analysis to ensure that all requirements and supporting
specifications are tested through the Test Cases with duplicates, invalid, and out-of-scope
scenarios removed.
Test case review :
⎯ Reviews test cases for correctness and comprehensiveness for test engineers
Documenting Test Results :
⎯ Log the test results as well as summarize which tests failed and succeeded.
Preparing Test Data :
⎯ Prepare the test data (person and/or provision) to be used in the test cases
⎯ Test data is prepared by utilizing available data within the project team and making/creating
necessary modifications
Project Status :
⎯ During the testing process, notifies the Test Analyst/Test Leader immediately upon identifying any issues that can affect the project schedule.
⎯ Help the project team(s) evaluate risk and shuffle priorities based on the unresolved issues
and the time remaining.
Assimilation / Creation of Metrics & Measurements :
⎯ Participates in gathering of summary test execution data and deriving the requisite testing
metrics from it
Participate in Root Cause Analysis :
⎯ Participates in the test execution walk through with the team and the Testing Lead.
⎯ Documenting any trends emerging from the Test Execution Review.
Coaching :
⎯ Coach other associates on a variety of skills. This includes how to create test cases, test
coverage comprehensiveness, technical assistance, test environment usage, test data setup,
how to document issues, and how to evaluate risk with uncovered defects.
⎯ Create and/or provide input on the necessary knowledge management documentation to aid
testing teams in understanding what needs to be tested, or how the tool should be utilized
