what is conversion testing?
some people say load testing is part of performance testing and some say that perdormance testing comes under load testing. someone please clarify.

Conversion testing is testing a program or procedure used for data conversion from existing system whenever updating,or to a new system.

Conversion testing is testing of programs or procedures used to convert data from existing systems for use in replacement systems.

Hi
For Example Our Software Package Installed version 3.1 with Customer A
 
We Developed 3.2 with new features and Customer need 3.2, so we will upgrade 3.2 into the Customer A, So we will do some coding for the conversion of 3.1 to 3.2 that converstion process testing is called Conversion testion  Have u got it http://forum.onestoptesting.com/member_profile.asp?PF=9857&FID=4 - nachiketh

Load testing do not come under performance testing , instead Load testing is a part of Performance Testing . and Stress testing is also part of Performance testing .

Performance Testing : this testing checks for the response time and the stability of the application

Load Testing : this testing checks , what is the load that the application stand for other than the dead (total) load . in simple words, what is the extra load that the application can withstand.

Once the product is developed it is test to know the perfection of the product.it is done by Test Engineer.it is also called validation.
