Designation: Performance Test Engineer
Job Description
- Able to plan and execute application and system-level performance tests
in a dynamic test and development environment.
- Optimization of all aspects of application software, operating systems
(Unix/Linux and Windows) and integrated distributed systems, including
hardware components.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve performance problems in all stages of
development and in the live production systems.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve performance problems in all stages of
development and in the live production systems.
- Write LoadRunner scripts and Run LoadRunner performance tests including
load, stress, durability, and stability tests.
- Evaluate the performance of new IT technologies and give recommendations
on performance, use and usability with in the e-commerce infrastructure.
- Support Development Team and DBA Team on performance-related design,
development, and validation.
- Design effective and efficient performance tests that are aligned with
industry standard metrics.
- Analyze performance test results and report to peers and management on
the results and conclusions derived from test analysis.
- Analyze and recommend performance tools and methods.
- Develop tools/Programs to aid in all of the preceding functions.
Desired Profile
- 4+ years experience and advanced-level skill in at least one load
testing tool, (i.e., LoadRunner or Silktest ), and the ability to create
test scripts and scenarios
- Strong understanding of major components of SOA architecture, including
web servers, databases and networking equipment.
- Experience using Windows Performance Monitor and LINUX/UNIX performance
monitoring tools (i.e., PerfMon, VMSTAT).
- An understanding of the key metrics needed to evaluate the performance
of a highly integrated distributed website.
- Strong scripting skills (using at least one of the following: PERL, TSL,
Java) for the purpose of performance testing and or automated testing.
