Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities:
- End-to-End Systems Verification on Wireless IP Based Telecom Systems:
-Intra and Inter-Network Signaling (SIP-T, LMSD, IETF-SIP, ISUP, H.248, and other embedded protocols)
-Air Interface Standards (IS95, IS2000, 802.x)
-Mobility Management (Resource Allocation algorithm verification, Robustness verification (error injection/race conditions and the like), Intra and Inter System Soft and Hard Handoff Processing (Signaling and Bearer verification), Multi-Vendor BSC Integration via standardized and proprietary Core, RAN interfaces)
-Capacity/Performance (Engineered Capacity and Overload Analysis of all associated core network nodes, extended traffic soaking, Capacity Tools development and integration, Monitoring and Analysis tools development and integration, Extended Traffic Soak with KPI/KCI analysis)
-Deployment/Migration/Upgrade Verification (New Product Introduction, Cutover testing of enhancement products, Release over Release Upgrade/Rollback Testing)
- Determines System Verification issues by evaluating components; developing and completing performance tests; analyzing test data; studying project requirements; analyzing user and potential user input; evaluating similar and related products and systems.
- Develops integration plans by researching, analyzing, selecting, and applying verification concepts, approaches, techniques, and criteria; collaborating with related Design, Systems Engineering, Product Management teams; investigating industry standards implementation for conformance/interoperability verification initiatives.
- Verifies and validates system by establishing acceptance test standards; performing diagnostic procedures; conducting compatibility evaluations; analyzing test data; identifying, isolating, and resolving performance problems. All verification to occur while executing on a full, end to end CDMA Wireless lab environment.
- Documents system verification results by recording testcase execution data into appropriate tracking tools, collecting detailed debug data for further analysis, quantifying effect of issues through understanding customer requirements, and working with design and engineering teams in working to resolve issues as efficiently as possible.
- Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
- Updates job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging system verification engineering technologies and practices; participating in educational opportunities and professional organizations; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks.
- Enhances engineering and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Test Automation
-Development using C++/Java and Object Oriented Design & Analysis (OODA). Debug
C++/Java software,
-Use of open system (gnu) and 3rd party software development tools
-Ability to develop Unix shell scripts (e.g. using expect, awk, perl, sed)

Desired Candidate Profile

Experience:
-Working knowledge/experience (2+yrs) with one or more of
the following technologies (CDMA / UMTS / TDMA / GSM / EVDO / BWA)
-SW verification background on large systems (multi-nodal)

Related Technical Skills/Experience:
-Unix, LINUX, SUN Operating Systems (Solaris)
-SUN based Servers (e450/Sunblade/Netra)
-Demonstrated skills / understanding of ATM, IP/UDP/TCP
-Datacom / IP Routing / LAN configuration
-Air Interface standards (IS95 / CDMA2000)
-Wireless Networking (802.x)
-Client / Server Applications
-Script development / Shell Programming a plus.
-Should have a solid understanding of standardized protocol structures, their layers, and how these map to the OSI model.
-Ability to dissect messaging and parameters within a protocol structure using off-the-shelf or internally developed tools.
-Hands-on experience in real-time telecommunications software testing/debugging
-Lab configuration / maintenance / materials planning
-Capacity / Performance / Load Test environments and associated tools
