Verification Specialist-SIT
Who are you?
This technical resource is part of the System Integration and
Testing team who are directly responsible for testing the products and
solutions produced by the development group to ensure that the quality
goal and planned functionality is achieved. This involves obtaining an
understanding of the customer requirements, system architecture, design
implementation details of software products and new features, and
developing test cases based on this understanding.
This role offers a continuous learning environment where each
assignment presents the opportunity to further extend the individuals
knowledge, skill set and career advancement. Individuals in this role
will thrive through training, tools, high quality internal
infrastructure and network of personnel to ensure they have every
opportunity to succeed.
What will you deliver?
Work as part of a development team to test functional requirements
of developed solutions and problems for customers in the wireless
telecom industry.
Understands architecture and design in order to effectively test the product from a system perspective
Develops test plans and test cases for upcoming features based on feature specifications and high level design
Design and develop automated test cases
Maintain a complete understanding of the testing infrastructure
Determine how the production infrastructure relates to the test environments
What will you bring?
Knowledge of general QA and software testing procedures and methodologies, and software development lifecycle fundamentals.
Java experience with development/testing experience with
distributed system using: CORBA, Java RMI, sockets (asset). Working
knowledge of TCP/IP protocol and/or other formal protocols (asset).
Experience with relational DBMS: Oracle and/or MySQL (preferred), DB2,
Informix (asset). Working knowledge of Unix/Linux (asset).
Other product specific technical knowledge, skills and experience as listed on job specific canvass
Experience in working with mobile systems, networks and telecommunications companies.
Communication skills (Verbal, written), detailed oriented,
thorough, methodical with ability to generate and present reports and
other written documents.
Education and qualifications
Degree in computer science, engineering/technical discipline
and/or technical certification required or equivalent related work
experience.
Post secondary degree in the same is preferred
Up to 3 years of experience in software testing and QA. Additional development experience will be an asset.
