Job Description

-Provide input to the Testing Manager in defining the Testing strategy. The role-holder will be responsible for defining optimal test plans in line as appropriate to the overall testing strategy in order to ensure comprehensive, end-end testing of the product life-cycle.
-Direct and supervise the efforts of the team of testing engineers in administering the test plan at various phases of the specific product development lifecycle. This will include evolving test cases; guiding and reviewing test cases defined by the team in order to ensure comprehensive and complete coverage and ensuring adherence to identified work processes.
-Provide clear and ongoing input to the line project teams regarding the results of testing so as to enable them to take appropriate corrective action to minimize defects and enhance product quality. Will work in collaboration with the line project teams to address and resolve issues on product quality.
-Lead, motivate and guide team members. This may include coaching to enhance performance levels; identifying and addressing development needs and working towards successful goal accomplishment.
-Collate and provide relevant metrics to internal stakeholders on critical performance and testing parameters such as defect density, defect leakage data etc.
-Collaborate with beta-site testers in issue replication and resolution whenever required. Log defects in the Defect management tool on a regular basis.
-Ensure adherence to quality norms prescribed through ISO, SDLC, STLC, CMMi etc in all activities. Will work to identify and implement process improvements in testing methodology.
-Work with counterparts to help plan, build, operate and maintain the testing environment
-A team of approx 10-15 testing engineers would report to this position

Education: BE/B.TECH/MCA

-Experience in software engineering tools & projects
-Exposure to testing software using contemporary defect detection and other relevant tools, ideally in a product environment
-Good knowledge in OOPs concepts, programming skills
-Experience to write SQL queries
-Good understanding of Relational Database (preferred : SQL/Oracle)
