Job Description

SumTotal Systems provides business performance improving products, services and solutions that help customers increase revenues, decrease expenses and reduce operational cycle time. The Quality Assurance manager will direct the activities of the Hyderabad based software quality assurance team. We are looking for someone who wants to deliver the highest quality enterprise management solution to our customers.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Participates with senior management to establish team's strategic plans and objectives and exercises good judgment on executing against objectives.
Responsible for developing quality standards for company products and overseeing the development and execution of software test plans and analysis of test results.
Responsible for the oversight and adherence to standard operating procedures to ensure Sarbanes-Oxley compliance as well as SumTotal internal auditing processes.
Interacts with customers on quality issues.
Become the advocate for Quality in the front end of the process, including the requirements definition phase, analysis and design. Determine which areas of a project are most likely to have quality issues, and focus testing on these areas as appropriate.
Responsible for resource planning and staffing.
Motivates team, delegates assignments appropriately and provides regular status reports.
Lead international quality initiative. Participate in weekly product planning meetings with international product team.
Present team status reports at quarterly corporate meetings.
Position will require weekly contact with our US office leading to adjusted working hours on certain days
Drive to move product regression test execution to the central Test Engineering team
Drive the engineering team to leverage Use Cases wherever possibletesting, design, etc.

Desired Candidate Profile

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

BSCS, BSEE (Masters preferred) or equivalent work experience.
8 + years in Software Quality Assurance.
6+ years leading Software QA teams.
In-depth understanding of Software Development Life Cycle.
Previous experience with delivering exceptional enterprise management software solutions.
Expert knowledge of QA methodologies, processes, and tools.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage team workflow to meet deadlines.
Passionate about delivering quality solutions while balancing against the needs of the business.
Effective communication skills, especially on the presentation of technical information to senior management and company wide audiences.
Excellent people manager.
