JOB DESCRIPTION:
Nortel has established a Technology Excellence Center (NTEC) in
Bangalore, India, focused on new product design, development, testing
and automation to deliver leading edge products to customers worldwide.
Located in Bangalore's IBC Knowledge Park, Nortel's new 35,000 square
foot facility is expected to employ more than 250 highly skilled
engineers by the end of 2007.
We are looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Automation Engineer
to join a fun, creative and challenging startup environment. This is a
hands-on technical position to create, maintain, and execute Java Based
Automation white box tests.
Key areas of responsibly include:
Design, develop, maintain and execute a full suite of data driven
white box tests using Java open source automation tools for regression,
functional, performance, load and stress testing
Create and maintain comprehensive test plans and test specifications
Execute manual and automated tests against the test plan, record defects, and verify fixes as necessary
Collaborate with the development team on test tool development, performance optimization, debugging and problem isolation
Configure the necessary test environment
Integrate test suites into the existing automated build, deploy, testing and reporting framework
Assist as necessary with manual testing including product releases
The ideal candidate has a great attitude and work ethic, scripting experience and strong Java, QA Automation skills.

KEY REQUIRED SKILLS:
3+ years testing complex web or enterprise Java applications on Unix/Linux.
3+ years Java Automation White Box testing
Expertise in building test automation frameworks, performance benchmark suites, data driven automation tests
Well versed in QA design patterns and best practices
Understanding of Networking Protocols: IP, RIP, OSPF, TCP/UDP, MPLS, STP
Proficiency in Java, XML, Netconf, SNMP, TclTk is a plus.
Comfortable in working on both Linux/Unix and Windows platforms
Can read and understand RFC, IEEE documentation
General Requirements
A passion for testing and a fundamental ability to find challenging defects
Rock solid Quality Assurance, troubleshooting and Analytical skills
