Test Plan:

A test plan is a detailed project plan for testing, covering the scope of testing, the methodology to be used, the tasks to be performed, resources, schedules, risks, and dependencies.  A test plan is developed prior to the implementation of a project to provide a well-defined and understood project roadmap.

i.                     What to Test?

ii.                   How to Test?

iii.                  Who to Test?

iv.                 When to Test?

To prepare test plan document test lead gather documents like Design Document, FRS Document → Team Formation, Risk Analysis and Test Strategy Document → Test Plan Preparation and reviews on test plan document.

Test Strategy
The Test Strategy is the plan for how you are going to approach testing. It is like a project charter that tells the world how you are going to approach the project.

Test Plan
A test plan is a systematic approach to testing a system such as a machine or software. The test plan defines the objectives and scope of the testing effort, and identifies the methodology that your team will use to conduct tests.
