Effective Methods for User Acceptance Testing

An increasing number of project teams are successfully improving their requirements elicitation and definition processes by implementing Use Cases. Although popularized with object-oriented development methods, Use Cases can be used successfully with all types of software development methodologies.
For the software testing professional, Use Cases can be extremely useful in the test planning process, often providing detailed scenarios that the tester used to have to develop or discover. By using Use Cases as input to the test process, and participating in the verification and validation of use cases during the requirements stage of the project, defects can often be uncovered even before testing begins.

This Two-day seminar addresses:
Use Cases
•Understanding the components of a Use Case
•How to develop a complete Use Case
•What types of requirements may not be covered by a set of Use Cases?

Validating Use Cases and Requirements

•Suitable techniques for reviewing Use Cases
•Finding the defects in a set of Use Cases
•Reviewing supplemental requirements

Test Planning Using Use Cases

•Identifying test cases
•Defining negative tests from Use Case exceptions
•Test data planning
•Planning tests for supplemental requirements
•Measuring and reporting test coverage
