Quality Assurance:-a process in which all the roles are monitored and guided to accomplish their responsibilities as per th e guidlines right from the starting process to the end
Quality Control:-is a process of reviews,walkthrough and inspections

Sorry,Sunithachenna ur thought is wrong....
Quality Assurance : Consists of Planning, Co ordinating and other strategic activities associated with measuring the product quality against the external requirement specification.
It includes inspections, auditing, Code Review and meeting etc.
QA is the process where the document for the product to be tested in verified with actual requirment of the User / customer.
Quality Control: It is a process where the product is actually executed and the expected behaviour is verified by comparing with actual behaviour of the software under test. (Like Black Box and white box)
QA is done before the QC.
Any one Correct me if am wrong.
