Job Description
Primarily responsible for preparing, conducting, and reporting on the testing of software components of Trane control system products under development.
Responsible for developing and executing formal software test plans, test cases for Residential HVAC systems and individual components, verifying defects are fixed, participating on the change control board, and keeping the project manager and department manager updated on the project testing status.
Assist with the development and implementation of the software testing strategy and process
Run test cases and automated tests as assigned for testing of controls products at all levels.
Report daily test status to test leads.
Log all defects found with appropriate detail in the defect tracking system.
Help build and maintain the Engineering test facilities (test room, test hardware and test software).
Desired Profile
Experience or knowledge of HVAC Equipment and/or Controls
Must understand and adhere to safety measures when working with electrical equipment
Software integration testing, including: writing, reviewing, and executing test plans and test cases.
Provide assistance and coordinate testing performed by other testing resources.
Help advance testing tools, technology, and processes within Control Systems.
Ability to meet short- and long-term deadlines.
