I've written an appstate as follows:
[-] appstate WinZipState ()
[-] if (GetTestCaseState()==TCS_ENTERING)
[-] if !(WinZip.Exists ())
[ ] WinZip.Start("C:\Program Files\WinZip\WINZIP32.exe")
[-] if (GetTestCaseState()==TCS_EXITING)
[ ] // AboutWinZip.Close ()
[-] if WinZip.Exists ()
[ ] WinZip.File.Exit.Pick()

Real simple. If WinZip is not already running, run it. When the test case has completed, exit. What happens is all of this code gets executed in sequence and the code in the testcase with the appstate of 'WinZipState' never gets executed.
