Risk Management

Risk management and mitigation is the final step in test planning. In an optimal setting, testing would be such that all functional requirements and capabilities of a product would be fully tested. Unfortunately, 100 per-cent test coverage cannot be performed in the amount of time allotted for testing a product. In reality, testing becomes an exercise in risk management. Understanding, identifying, and mitigating the risks are essential to the creation of a good testing methodology.
The primary goal is to maximize test coverage by using as many sample data sets from each data class as time permits.
