Usability and Accessibility training

The benefits

Training a selection of your staff brings necessary usability and accessibility skills and knowledge into your organisation, ensuring that best practices are integrated into your design process. The in-house knowledge reduces development time by building usability into the project from the start and by improving the ability to meet the demands for usability and accessibility throughout the project lifecycle so that considerably fewer revisions are needed.

We offer both public and in-house usability and/or accessibility training courses.

In-house courses provide a tailored solution incorporating examples and case studies from your current projects into a customised training course. By using your specific information to illustrate usability and accessibility principles, we bring together the training with your actual project and business goals.

Training sessions will usually take place at your own offices, although our own facilities or external venues can be arranged if required. It is highly participative, with group activities and workshops to give participants immediate, hands-on experience of user-centred design. All attendees receive a training manual with copies of the slides, forms to use in applying usability methods, and resources for additional usability information.

All of our courses cover:

    * The benefits of usability for both the end user and organisation
    * An overview of usability activities you can apply during a project lifecycle
    * The main usability and accessibility principles of web or interface design

In-house usability and accessibility training courses are flexible, lasting from ½ to 2 days depending on the scope of the training. We also Image of User Vision training room.provide shorter sessions to raise awareness of usability - perfect for management briefings and for launching a usability initiative in your organisation.

Our public courses take place on a regular basis and can be found in our events area.
Our new training facilities
We have created a new training room which can comfortably hold 14 delegates seated at desks for classroom style training sessions, or 25 delegates seated conference style.
We offer high-speed access to the internet and data projection capabilities, and a separate annex for breakout sessions and catering.
