Digital Signatures in TestDirector 7.5
Part 11 defines a digital signature as: “an electronic signature based upon cryptographic methods of originator authentication, computer by using a set of rules and a set of parameters such that the identity of the signer and the integrity of the data can be verified”
TestDirector 7.5 provides an interface to third party public key infrastructure (PKI) digital signature software and/or hardware. Digital signatures provide additional assurance over and above that provided by ordinary electronic signatures:
•Authentication of the identity of the signer. •Verification of data integrity The additional benefits of digital signatures are recommended when data is transmitted across open networks. When TestDirector is used over a closed network, digital signatures are not required.
