Defect Tracking
TestDirector’s
defect management tool allows a workflow to be configured to suit the
user. All standard fields can be customised to a limited extent and up
to 99 additional fields can be created and fully customised.
Control
of users is implemented primarily by the user permissions function.
Different user groups can be configured to perform unique activities in
support of defect processing. Electronic or digital signatures can be
applied at two stages in the lifecycle of the defect; one to approve a
specified and agreed course of action, and one to close out a completed
course of action. Once a signature has been applied the tool locks all
field values within the defect record that are associated with the
meaning of the applied signature. Limited configurability exists to
associate some user defined fields with a given signature type.
Workflow is controlled by the status and ownership of a defect
