Job Description: We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Test Manager(s), with broad experience in web based application testing based on Microsoft .NET platform. The position requires strong technical and communication skills, and a track record of shipping great products. This position requires taking on a test leadership role for a great team to test and deliver web applications.

 

Your role includes all technical and managerial challenges associated with ensuring project delivery on multiple fast paced projects.

 

Your key result areas as percentage of your overall work items will be:

·         Managing a test team of 15 to 25 manual test engineers (~30%)

·         Ensuring 80% - 90% utilization of test team across multiple projects

·         Project planning, tracking and weekly reporting to senior management

·         People management including bi-annual performance reviews, coaching and performance management

·         Review Test Metrics and improve overall test strategy

·         Test Management of monthly releases (~30%)

·         Develop and manage test plans for 3-5 projects per year for major releases

·         Review test progress and test results on daily basis with test leads

·         Supporting multiple release schedules across a range of projects typically 10-12 releases in a year

·         Provide direction and requirements to test automation team to automate test cases, OS installs and  improve test execution efficiency

·         Recruitment, process development and training (~30%):

·         Innovate and improve company process model

·         Lead by example by clearing CSTE/ CSQA certifications (majority of our test engineers already have CSTE certification)

·         Train about 10 experienced hires and 40 junior test engineers in a year on test methodologies (CSTE curriculum) and project on boarding

·         Build the team by conducting 10 interviews per week and through industry network

·         Pre-sales and customer management (~10%)

·         Technical pre-sales support to help customers realize our strong test capability 

·         Collaborate with Seattle and other India teams by visiting them at least once a quarter for one to two weeks, daily phone conference calls

·         Review RFPs and propose project plan, effort estimates for three to six projects every year

 

This is a unique opportunity involving test management responsibility with a growing organization as part of core management team reporting to the top management. This is a new position to help us accommodate growth in people and projects.

 

Candidate Profile:

·         Engineering background with first class academics

·         Team management experience of managing 15-30 test team members

·         Strong project management skills and ability to handle three to five projects at a time

·         Excellent Analytical and debugging skills

·         Knowledge of test automation frameworks and tools

·         Strong test background on applications developed using Microsoft Platform (Web and Windows)

·         Prior work experience working with Microsoft Corporation is a plus

·         Prefer IT services background with IT majors

·         Local candidates preferred. No relocation is available.

 

Experience: 6 years or more

Compensation: CTC 10 – 20 lakhs p.a.
