Topic: Performance Testing Audio-Video Streams Posted: 04May2007 at 5:06am |
I have a client-server communications/collaboration system written
primarily in Java, (think of an enhanced NetMeeting) and I am trying to
load and stress test the servers that manage and route audio-video
transmissions.
Has anyone had any experience performance testing servers that handle audio and video streaming. I have been thinking of creating a small program to generate continuous packets to simulate an audio/video stream, but this would require some work. Basically, I want to measure performance degradation as the communications sessions are increased on the server. Any suggestions on tools or technicques would be appreciated, and I'd be happy to share whatever I learn from this with anyone else who is interested.
