Hello, I´m new in QA and I have to choose a tool for my company.
We must test e-commerce sites implemented in Java with EJBs, servlets and jsp´s. The database is Oracle 8. We´d like perform functional and load testing. Post Resume: Click here to Upload your Resume & Apply for Jobs |

I agree that you should take a look at the Automated Testing Tools thread and I'll add that
you need to come up with some detailed evaluation criteria. 1. What needs to be tested? 2. On what layer(s) will testing occur? - is this white-box, gray, black, all? 3. Functional testing AND cross-browser compatibility? or just functional? 4. Does the tool need to be client, client-server, web-based(hosted)? 5. Who will be using it? There are a number of extremely valuable resources for doing tool evaluation and for scoping projects. One book I'm quite fond of is "Testing Applications on the Web" by Hung C. Nguyen> One last bit of advice: don't spend money o the wrong tool. Get it right the first time by doing a thorough needs assessment. |
