Designation     SW Engineer (QA)

Job Description   
 Duties include designing, developing and implementing methods to test
and troubleshoot newly developed or redesigned software products.
Assignments include design, development of automation test suites apart
from executing tests and documenting work and results. Performs
installations and runs quality assurance programs to test, identify,
reproduce, and report defects. May participate in new product
development teams as a test resource offering insight into quality
assurance issues. Responsible for setup of test environment and ongoing
maintenance of the applications and hardware required to support this
environment.

Desired Profile     PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Seeks assistance when needed, demonstrates self-initiative.
Implements work-plans and schedules as assigned.
Follows standard engineering practices under the direction of others
Uses tools appropriately with technical guidance and completes tasks and assignments with general direction.

SKILLS:

Ability to write automation testing scripts using PERL will be an added advantage.
Should be able to design automation framework and to have a good knowledge in development of automating the testing scripts.
Experience with setup and configuration of storage platforms, i.e., disk arrays, tape libraries, filers, etc. is MANDATORY.
General knowledge and application of engineering concepts.
Ability to work independently.
Good written and verbal communication skills
Must
have hands-on experience writing test plans/specs and test cases that
follow IEEE standards for heterogeneous platform environments.
Must be able to setup and configure hardware/software test environments to perform testing.
