If any one idea about how to calculate time estimation of testing ( I know it is big subject to discuss)
In our orgnisation we calculate 1/3 of the development time for testing. But now we had new project regarding QA. And customer told to have time estimation. I calculate time estimation for each module in requirement as per their content? whether it is right? There is no accurate way to predict time to test. It has too many factors related to it and
hence, too many risks. We use the development estimate on a 1:1 ratio when there is no history to utilize in the prediction. It's a safe number, and it is much easier to shorten test time than to extend it once you've started testing. |
