What is conversion testing?
Conversion testing is to verify that one data format can be covnerted to another data format and the new data can be used by the AUT correctly. Typically Coversion testing includes Video/Audio conversion, language converstion, Database file conversion; however, nearlly any kind of file can be coverted to another format, so coversion testing is conducted by verify based on file format specifications, not the applications. For example, if you want to test the conversion of Microsoft Word document to HTML pages, you don't need verify the HTML pages with IE, Safari, FireFox or any other kind of browser, you just need verify the converted HTML file conforms to W3C HTML specification.
