	Embedded testing is usually a nice market (have no specific knowladge on UK). This type of testing is usualy done with external test equipment (to generate inputs and verify outputs). HW knowlage is usualy required (most testers I have met had EE eng. degree) and SW knowlage is at second place. Saying that, I have met a few Comp. Sc. that did realy good job at this but had a much loger learning curve. good luck
