CSTP - Facts and Figures:

1. There are about 5000 CSTPs worldwide. This number is increasing.

2. The Common Body of Knowledge has been formulated by an international team of practitioners and industry experts in the field of software testing.  Their experience spans decades. IIST, USA is well respected in US and beyond.
Their list of customers (see attached file) will give them an idea of IIST’s popularity in the US.

3. The list of organizations that have sponsored their employees for CSTP
is at http://www.testinginstitute.com/companies.php (about 6 pages!).

4. Dr. Magdy Hanna – Chairman of IIST, USA normally charges 4,800 USD
per day as professional fees. The rest of the experts in the US Industry normally charge between 2,000 to 3,000 dollars. (Please don’t publish this information
but this information highlights the status and background of IIST, USA).

5. The course material and faculty are evaluated and certified by IIST, USA.

6. Before starting QSIT, Mr. Arunkumar Khannur was in QAI and consulted and trained companies in India, China, Singapore, Russia etc., He was the first consultant on CMMi in the Asia- Pacific region.

7. In India bigger companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Sonata, Hughes
Software, Cognizant Technologies, Talisma Corporation, etc., are very excited about CSTP. Will keep you posted on the latest developments.

8. Please find below the status of Junior CSTP by QSIT in the following countries:

1.       India (Bangalore): 25th – 27th March’ 2004 (Finalized).

2.       Srilanka: 29th -31st March’ 2004 (Finalized).

3.       Singapore: April 5th -8th March’ 2004 (Tentative).

4.       China: April (Dates to be confirmed).

5.       Thailand:  April (Dates to be confirmed).

This gives one an idea of popularity of CSTP in the Asia- Pacific region.

Please visit http://www.testinginstitute.com/Partners.php for updated
information on QSIT’s authorization for conducting CSTP in the
Asia-Pacific rim.

9. Comparison of CSTP with CSTE:

a) CSTP is the only education based certification program in the world. We ensure that at the end of the day, candidates do not just have a certificate but have a complete grounding on all concepts of Software Testing.
This is primarily driven by case studies, exercises and group discussions.
They are given sample templates and forms which would ensure that they are ready to implement what has been taught in their respective organizations.
They are truly in a position to advise the top management in the area of
software testing. The trainer’s rich practical experience is translated into
valuable learning for candidates in these programs. Candidates have a
glimpse into Industry’s best practices!

b) QAI’s CSTE is only exam and certification based. There is no training or orientation imparted to the Candidates to face the CSTE Exam. They are just handed over a book and asked to prepare by themselves and face the exam. Candidates do not have any practical orientation or exposure to Industry’s best practices.

c) We have benchmarked the common body of knowledge (CBOK) of CSTP with QAI's CSTE. Infact, we cover all the topics that are in CSTE in greater
detail and also address those areas that are not included in CSTE.

The Common Body of Knowledge of QAI’s CSTE is given below:

Knowledge Areas:
Source - http://www.qaiindia.com/Certification/frameset.htm
