I am a fairly new tester, but I have came straight in at
the testing websites end rather than working my way up from software
testing. I need some help in how to plan and test for web apps like
discussion rooms and chat rooms. Most of what I have dne before has
been what you call front end testing, making sure the javascrip and GUI
work okay..but now I am in a situation where I need to go
further..please help!!!

1.You will get an idea of how the functionality should work within your own environment
2. You can match up your "screenshots" and maybe build a business model on how your functionality should work 3. You can go back to the developers with a rough "flowchart" and get them to confirm with you that is what they have built. 4. Depending on the style of testing you have been charged with, you can build business scenario tests (also known as use cases). These will help to prove that the "application" works in the real world as it is meant to, but they are no substitute for genuine System Testing. |
