IPsoft is seeking a New York City-based technical/marketing writer to join our busy, growing Communications Department.

Responsibilities

Write and edit RFP responses, proposals and related documents in conjunction with Business Development Executives, Account Managers and technical Subject Matter Experts.

Collaborate with Marketing staff on the development of marketing materials.

Write and edit white papers, case studies, articles, and other related materials at the direction of management.

Develop programmer, administrator and end-user documentation and training for customer accounts, based on customizations and original programming work performed by IPsoft developers and consultants.

Develop, edit and review PowerPoint presentations and related materials at the direction of management.

Candidates must be willing to work irregular and long hours (nights and weekends) when deadlines require it.

Qualifications

A four-year undergraduate degree

Minimum: one to three years of experience in a commercial technical writing environment (IT strongly preferred)

At least three writing samples for evaluation and discussion

Demonstrated mastery of documentation software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio; Adobe Acrobat; a graphics editing package such as Photoshop, etc.)

References indicating a proven track record of working well with technical subject matter experts (SMEs) AND with non-technical managers and project stakeholders

Preferred Experience

Proposal/RFP experience

Marketing communications experience

Project management experience (on documentation projects)

Experience with ITIL best practices (ideally, Foundation-certified) (also good: Six Sigma, CMMI, other process improvement/quality assurance methodologies)
