CRM is a generalized software which has some standard modules used to maintain the relationship with customers.
Companies can customize this software by adding/removing some modules according to their need. This is called customized software |

Generalized is off the shelf software. You get a disc or a download install it and go. Advantages = cost, support, and lead time Disadvantages may not meet all your requirements
Customized is building an App to your specifc requirements set either from the ground up or from an existing generalized platform. Advantages meets all your requirements Disadvantages Cost, Support, and lead time ![]() In my experience if you can find out of the box software that does 80% of what you need then go for it. People too often underestimate the complexity of customizations. Edited by fuji9991 - 31Jul2008 at 4:23pm |

customized software is a type of software that is developed either for a specific organization or function that differs from or is opposite of other already available software. It is generally not targeted to the mass market, but usually created for companies, business entities, and organizations. Custom software is also when companies or governments pay for customized software for budget or project managing. A simple generalized software-controlled technique to linearize the transfer characteristics of a class of transducers is presented. Use is made of some standard approximation techniques such as curve fitting and interpolation to obtain appropriate polynomial and rational functions required in the technique. |
