Job Description
The QA Engineer works with Developers, Product Managers, and others to help ensure high quality and timely delivery of products of varying sizes and complexities. The QA Engineer plans and executes manual and automated testing throughout the development cycle and during periodic releases. Throughout the project, the QA Engineer communicates frequently with team members regarding quality status, and helps to resolve project problems and issues to ensure the highest degree of customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties/Tasks:

* Ability to analyze functional testing requirements (Business Requirements, Solution documents, etc.)
* Proven reporting and metrics gathering capabilities
* Ability to work closely with development staff to provide testing results, plans and to develop trust and credibility.
* Develop and execute testing strategies and plans for various products and projects
* Utilize various testing tools as appropriate, in order to automate the execution of test cases
* Write and track Bug Reports as problems are found and corrected
* Participate in periodic release activities
* Work with the Engineering team to brainstorm and test new ideas
* Investigate and assess emerging web and software technologies

Desired Profile
Knowledge of Industry, Product, and Technology:

* 1-2 years QA experience in a commercial software environment
* Experience in testing web applications
* Familiarity with relational database concepts and RDBMS systems such as MySQL, Oracle, DB2 and MS SQL Server.
* Basic networking knowledge
* Experience with PHP,JavaScript,AJAX a plus
* Working knowledge of both Unix and Windows.

Education and other Qualifications:

* Bachelors degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related field
* Initiative, self-starter, results-oriented, focused, and team player
* Ability to work with cross-functional teams, communicate QA perspective and lead QA effort
* Must be a good team player with excellent written and verbal communications skills.
