Job Description:

Being part of System Integration Test team & ensuring Quality product delivery to System Verification team. Plan and develop Manual test suites to be used for testing the Ciena Network Management products. Review product requirements, architecture and designs and provide feedback to development and test teams. Team with test organizations in order to ensure customer quality in the Network Management products.

Desired Profile :

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Function as part of the local software Integration test team to ensure quality product delivery to SVT

• To test allocated features on NMS/EMS on OTN/DWDM/SONET/SDH technologies.

• Develop Test plans/Test designs based on System Requirements and high level development documents.

• Perform Regression testing along with new feature testing in various phases of the Software development Cycle.

• Investigate product defects and highlight critical issues that can have potential customer impact.

• Interface with global Development, Automation and Software Verification team, acting as local liaison for project responsibilities.

SKILLS

• Minimum 3 yrs experience in the Telecommunication testing domain preferably Optical background

• Should have prior experience of testing Java platform based Products

• Knowledge of interfacing with Oracle databases.

• Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills.

• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.

DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS

• Working knowledge of TCL preferred.

• Strong Knowledge of NMS/EMS on Sonet/SDH/DWDM/OTN Background

• Basic Knowledge on L2/L3 Networking Fundamentals

• Strong knowledge of UNIX required.

• Strong Knowledge of CORBA and Oracle
