Quality Assurance(QA):- QA is refers to set of planned and systematic activities that ensures that process in the organisation meets certain standards like ISO 9000 or SEI CMM level that gives certain degree of confidence in the quality of software being released.

Quality Control(QC):- QC is the process where product is actually executed and actual behaviour is compared with expected behaviour. All types of testing like white box and black box testing comes under quality control.
It is oriented to "detection".

QA activities ensure that the process is defined and appropriate. Methodology and standards development are examples of QA activities. A QA review would focus on the process elements of a project - e.g., are requirements being defined at the proper level of detail. QA is process oriented Quality Assurance makes sure you are doing the right things, the right way. Quality Control: A set of activities designed to evaluate a developed work product.
