SIT Specialist -System Integration and Testing, R&D

Description

This technical resource is part of the System Integration and Testing team who are directly responsible for testing the products and solutions produced by the development group to ensure that the quality goal and planned functionality is achieved. This involves obtaining an understanding of the customer requirements, system architecture, design implementation details of software products and new features, and developing test cases based on this understanding.

Requirements

Work as a part of System Integration and Testing team to ensure that the system meets customer/product requirements.

Review the requirements and design (implementation) of the Products/Solutions and facilitate in feasibility evaluation.

Define and create test strategies for the telecom products.

Develop test plans and test cases for upcoming features based on functional specifications and high level design.

Understand syetm architecture in order to effectively test the product from a system (and customer) perspective.

Maintain a complete understanding of the testing infrastructure.

Determine how the production infrastructure relates to the test environments and ensure that the test environment supports and simulates production infrastructure on a small scale.

Design and delvelop plan to set up and configure test environment.

Find issues early in the test cycle and report/track it through problem tracking system.

Generate positive customer experience according to Redknee standards.

Qualifications

Knowledge of general QA and software testing procedures and methodologies, and software development lifecycle fundamentals.

Technology/Toools:

Working knowledge of testing high availability, high throughput, real time, mission critical system.

Working knowledge of testing distributed systems using CORBA, RMI, sockets (asset).

Experienced in load testing, stress testing and benchmark (performance) testing.

Working knowledge of TCP/IP and SOAP protocols (prefrence).

Working knowledge of SMPP and USSD protocol (asset).

Working knowledge with relational DBMS: Oracle and/or MySQL (preferred).

Working knowledge of Unix/Linux.

Working Knowledge of scripting (perl, ksh, python).

Experience of working on Solaris Platform (asset).

Experience in automation of telecom products (asset).

Exceptional debugging, analytical and problem solving skills.

Experience in working with mobile systems, networks and telecommunications companies.

Exceptional communication skills (Verbal, written), detailed oriented, thorough, methodical with demonstrated ability to generate and present reports and other written documents.

Previous software development experienced would be a definite asset

Should be willing to travel aborad when required.

Exposure to ISO/CMM processes (asset)

Degree in computer science, engineering/technical discipline and/or technical certification required or equivalent related work experience. Post secondary degree in the same is preferred.

3 to 5 years of experience in software testing and QA.
Additional development experience will be an asset.
