In the test script, WinRunner does not use the full physical description for an object. Instead, it assigns a short name to each object: the logical name. An object’s logical name is determined by its class. In most cases, the logical name is the label that appears on an object: for a button, the logical name is its label, such as OK or Cancel; for a window, it is the text in the window’s title bar; and for a list, the logical name is the text appearing next to or above the list.
