Topic: Test Estimatuion Methods - Please Help

Can anyone point me towards some credible formulae/approaches for
estimating how many scripts/test cases will need to be written for a
given project - and how long it will take to write them with a defined
resource - and how long to execute with a defined resource?I
am in the middle of planning for a test programme that has a defined
window for system test design and execution and need, with some degree
of confidence, to put forward some suggestions about what might be
possible in the time available.
