Topic: Performance Testing and SLAs Posted: 04May2007 at 4:59am |
I am performance testing a Commercial Foreign Exchange system and have
been heavily involved in driving the definition of Service Level
Agreements (SLAs). My performance testing approach is to use Segue's
SilkPerformer(TM) to capture SLA measurements during load tests. The
SLAs themselves have been based on transactional response times and
involve a large number of transactions.
The huge number of SLAs do cause overheads and I am thinking about slimming these down to a subset of representative SLAs. Does anyone know of any good resources to guide the definition of SLAs? Or even resources containing benchmark SLAs for certain types of systems? Also I'm not even sure if it falls within the testing remit to be involved in SLA definition.
