"Most of my more recent embedded testing has been Windows CE and GPRS/3G based, and most of the books relate to devlopment and technology rather than testing"- You said this. This is what I am afraid of, since I have no experience in embedded. But I have experience in Maintenence of Electronic devices( Inverters and Photoprinters) and Manual Testing.
