Hello all,
I'd like to start a thread regarding what 'turns off' users from a web site. From a usability stand point, what makes you leave a site? There are hundreds of reasons, but if we flag what bothers us the most, we might ring a bell with someone who hasn't included it in their test cases! Here are some to get the ball rolling: 1) Error Message: 404, Page Not Found, etc. A personal ‘favorite’ is sites that open all of the additional windows (ads, explanation windows, etc). JUST SAY NO TO POP-UPS!!!! Post Resume: Click here to Upload your Resume & Apply for Jobs |

We have a site that has a dynamic JavaScript menu as a header that is loaded by the body of
the page. Therefor the menu for one page may be, and usually is, different than the next. If you use the back button it throws the body out of synch with the menu. This drives me nuts and they won't correct it. They just say that it would cost too much to do it correctly. In other words they know it is not right and are willing to admit that and they still won't fix it. Short version: Browser based sites or apps that do not work with or disable the browsers built in features. |
