Current Situation
Software
vendors have been slow to build regulatory compliance features into
their products to satisfy the regulatory bodies. Accurate
interpretation of regulations has been lacking and the strength of need
has not surfaced until now. While test tools are widely used throughout
the software industry today, they are not used widely to aid testing of
regulated computer systems applications. Current testing methods for
regulated systems are mainly manual and paper based, involving high
administrative burden. One company however, has developed its testing
tool set to allow use within regulated industry and satisfy compliance
requirements.
Mercury Interactive now provide TestDirector 7.5,
featuring developments specifically designed to provide the benefits of
test tool usage enjoyed for many years by existing customers, whilst
also satisfying Part 11 requirements. TestDirector 7.5 is the only test
management tool on the market specifically developed to fulfil this need
